Arts & Culture Flourish in South Central Kentucky

Arts and culture abound in South Central Kentucky as the region offers opportunities to watch—or participate in—theater, music or dance performances presented by various organizations.
 

Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (SKyPAC)

SKyPAC is the newest edition to downtown Bowling Green. With a planned opening in 2011, this state-of-the-art facility will offer arts and education opportunities for all of South Central Kentucky. Featuring more than 69,000 square feet and a 1,600-seat theater, the facility’s total construction costs are $28 million.

Theatres

Multiple theaters are present throughout South Central Kentucky. Featuring year-long schedules of plays, shows and performances, the following theaters offer something for everyone:

Orchestras

The Bowling Green Western Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Kentucky of Bowling Green offer just a few of many musical performances in South Central Kentucky.
 

Festivals

Annual events in South Central Kentucky include the Southern Kentucky Book Fest, the Mini Corvette Challenge, the Green River Catfish Festival, the Duncan Hines Festival, and The Medical Center 10K Classic. Events celebrate traditions and cultures ranging from Scotland and Ireland to Civil War re-enactments.
